Engineering Administrator

The management of OceanGate, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Engineering Administrator to work with the Engineering team managing procurement and fulfilment, tech libraries, product lifecycle management systems, and assist in the further expansion of our Engineering capabilities. This is a full-time position.

Requirements:

  • Education in a technical field.
  • Manage Purchase Orders and vendor quoting process.
  • Administer and support the Configuration Management System.
  • Manage drawing trees and technical configuration.
  • Manage server applications.
  • Keep the Engineering publications and data documents organized and current.
  • Must be comfortable working in closed and or confined spaces.
  • Have an insatiable appetite for learning.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time as well as able to lift and carry materials or equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Capable of working effectively in an Integrated Product Team employing meaningful collaboration and communication skills.

How to make the "A" List:

  • Familiar with computer networking.

Engineering Intern

The management of OceanGate, Inc. has an opening for an Electrical/Mechanical/Drafting student currently enrolled in Engineering classes for internships during the 2017-2018 school year. The candidate(s) will assist with various procedures, work on new product design as well as special projects, document engineering configurations, and build electrical and/or mechanical systems. Interns can work up to 20 hours per week. This is a temporary position.

Basic qualifications:

  • Must have strong and competent Engineering math skills.
  • Strong desire to learn how to be a hands-on Engineer and/or designer.
  • Capable to work effectively in an Integrated Product Team employing meaningful collaboration and communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in closed and or confined spaces.

How to make the "A" List:

  • Prior drafting skills using a 3D CAD program.
  • Ability to “reverse engineer” with precise detail.
  • Completed Statics, Strength of Materials, Circuits and Circuits lab.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time as well as able to lift and carry materials or equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Networking knowledge.

Engineering Modeler/Designer

The management of OceanGate, Inc. has an immediate opening for a full-time 3D Modeler. Candidates must have drafting skills using a 3D CAD program. The selected candidate will assist with various engineering development procedures, processes, and work-flow and will work on sustaining, R&D, NPD, as well as special engineering projects. Principal duties include preparation of detailed drawings of parts and assemblies conforming to ASME Y 14.100 and 14.5. Secondary duties will include prototype development and testing. The execution of respective duties and on-time completion of projects is paramount and required. This is a full-time position.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of 3D CAD experience and creating drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment accomplishing tasks with limited resources or oversight and at a rapid pace.
  • Must be comfortable working in closed and or confined spaces.

Expedition Sales and Client Services Manager

The primary responsibility of the Expedition Sales Manager is to generate new sales and drive revenue for OceanGate Expeditions. The position requires a blend of direct hands-on sales and client service experience in the affluent adventure or expedition B2C travel market to help create, market and sell submersible expeditions.

To achieve company sales goals, you will:

  • Have a strong understanding of adventure/expedition travel or specialty tourism programs.
  • Manage individual and affiliate (agents) sales efforts from lead generation through contract completion, fulfillment and payment.
  • Conduct outbound sales calls and field inbound inquiries from expedition clients.
  • Identify travel affiliate prospects and conduct outbound sales efforts, including preparing and presenting proposals that lead to signed reseller agreements and individual client commitments.
  • Prepare professional sales presentations using standard electronic/digital software applications.
  • Make sales presentations on behalf of the company, developing a strong command of company subject matter and value proposition.
  • Manage relationships with affiliates to monitor progress toward sales goals and ensure that all marketing materials are consistent with the OceanGate brand and expedition messaging.
  • Assess sales opportunities for legitimacy, timeliness and return on investment.
  • Travel as required for sales presentations or client relationship management.
  • Use analytical sales tools to track, manage and report the status of sales activities, and progress toward sales goals.
  • Use Smartsheet, Nimble, or other tools to maintain a database of leads, prospects and clients.
  • Support the business development team with B2B sales.

To help the team deliver a high quality expedition experience, you will:

  • Provide information and customer service to participants, travel affiliates and sponsors before, during and after each expedition.
  • Coordinate the distribution of expedition updates, information, and gear to participants and affiliates.
  • Organize and participate in private client engagement events.
  • Coordinate client reservations including management of confidential client information, tracking receipt of applications, contracts, payments, and special requests.
  • Conduct post-expedition debriefs with participants and affiliates to gather feedback and use that information to advise our crew on ways to improve the client experience or team capabilities.
  • Travel to remote locations including being aboard vessels at sea for several weeks at a time

Shop Technician

The management of Oceangate, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Shop Technician to help manage our expanding workload. We are looking for a committed and competent individual with the combination of strong mechanical and interpersonal skills. Requirements

  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical systems, Electronics, Hydraulics, Oxygen Systems and Pneumatics.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in fabrication of Metal structures, Hydraulic systems, and Pneumatic systems.
  • Forklift, crane, and rigging experience.
  • Mechanically inclined with proven experience using wide array of power and hand tools.
  • Clean driving record and demonstrated competence in backing bumper hitched dual or triple axle trailers to launch marine vessels.
  • Can demonstrate basic seamanship and safe operation of small boats.

  • Open Water SCUBA certification.

Key Accountabilities

  • Fabricate and install mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, oxygen and pneumatic devices components onto submersibles and support vessels.
  • Maintain submersibles and various support vessels to ensure all systems are in complete working order and in compliance with all technical requirements.
  • Execute the planned maintenance of submersible systems and maintain complete technical records and logs.
  • Follow established shop checklists and operating procedures.
  • Carrying out general shop operations team duties as required.

Submersible Electronics Technician

The management of OceanGate, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Assistant Electrical/Electronics Technician to work with the Engineering team in troubleshooting/developing/implementing hardware into submersible systems and supporting equipment. The assistant will work closely with a team of Technicians/Engineers in implementing solutions to control/feedback systems of the submersible. This is a full-time position

Requirements:

  • Familiar with circuit diagrams, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Familiar with basic electrical troubleshooting equipment: multimeter, ammeter, variable voltage supplies.
  • Familiar with basic AC/DC power safety.
  • Capable to work effectively in an Integrated Product Team employing meaningful collaboration and communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in closed and or confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively for brief periods.
  • Insatiable appetite for learning.

  • Familiar with use of higher level troubleshooting equipment: oscilloscope, network tester, circuit tracer.
  • Programming experience: Python, C++, C, Arduino environment, LabVIEW, Verilog/VHDL.

Submersible Pilot Marine Technician

The management of Oceangate, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Sub Pilot/Marine Technician to help manage and operate our fleet of manned submersibles and support vessels. We are looking for a committed and competent individual with combination of strong mechanical and interpersonal skills who can work on sensitive marine equipment, perform regular maintenance and operate complex systems to support dive operations (this is not an ocean sciences or marine research position). This is an excellent opportunity for a high-energy professional who is interested in a long-term position with a growing company.

The successful candidate will be self-driven, flexible, positive, and willing to work in a small, close-knit team environment; must have the drive to follow through on tasks and be goal-oriented. Competitive salary and benefits/medical package.

Requirements

  • Have current U.S. Citizenship and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in confined space, fit through 28” diameter ring and be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience operating submersible vehicles (manned and unmanned).
  • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office and experience with hydrographic survey and charting software packages, including Hypack/Hysweep.
  • Demonstrated competence in operation of half-duplex communication devices.
  • Experience operating small boats and working on large commercial vessels.
  • Demonstrate basic seamanship and safe operation of small boats.
  • Able to travel for domestic and foreign work, approx. 20% of the year or as required.
  • Willingness and ability to work offshore for weeks at a time as required.
