Administrative Assistant/Support Coordinator

The management of Oceangate, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant/Support Coordinator to help manage our expanding business needs. We are looking for a committed and competent individual with combination of strong organizational and project management skills who can work on multiple tasks as once, and execute with precision and common sense.

Due to the nature of our business we are logistics experts, moving personnel and sensitive marine equipment worldwide. We also order and track critical parts and mechanical equipment that must be systematically purchased, price negotiated and delivered on or before deadline. This is an excellent opportunity for a smart, articulate, high-energy professional who is interested in a long-term position with a growing company.

Requirements

  • Have current U.S. Citizenship and valid driver’s license.
  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desired

Key Accountabilities

  • Support Director of Finance & Administration in all day to day operations of the company.
  • Prepare reports, plan and organize meetings, schedules and company calendar.
  • Support CEO, COO and Department Directors in all forms of administrative assistance.
  • Manage multiple tasks and follow up with key stakeholders to confirm timely completion.
  • Fast and efficient on computers and understand basic networking and systems operations.
  • Able to take on projects and address issues under tight deadlines and compressed schedules.

Media and Marketing Manager

The primary responsibilities of the Marketing Manager are to execute the marketing plan for B2C expedition programs and B2B commercial charter projects, manage brands and messaging, and support the sales and customer service team. The position requires a blend of hands-on marketing experience, preferably in the affluent adventure or expedition travel market to help create, market and sell submersible expeditions.

To achieve company marketing goals, you will:

  • Manage the production and distribution of digital and printed marketing and sales collateral.
  • Manage social media content, website content, online marketing programs, advertising design and placement, direct marketing programs, and special projects.
  • Manage graphic designers, copywriters, videographers and other creative and technical vendors
  • Coordinate public and private events, including identifying opportunities for OceanGate expedition leaders to speak to appropriate audiences.
  • Estimate the ROI of planned marketing programs and track key performance metrics.
  • Research future expedition destinations for customer interest, feasibility and marketability.
  • Coordinate with sponsors and partners to manage co-marketing programs.
  • Write and distribute press releases and content to targeted media outlets and coordinate story placement with key journalists.
  • Coordinate film projects and content licensing with broadcasters and documentary film makers.
  • Have experience using graphics and multimedia software editing tools, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premier
  • Manage the production and distribution of branded garments.

General Duties and Expectations

This position requires that you be self-directed and professional, with a positive attitude and willingness to work with a small, close-knit team. You must be goal-oriented to manage ongoing marketing efforts in a dynamic environment and are able to follow through on specific tasks in an environment with tight deadlines and fixed schedules. To succeed in this position you will:

  • Have experience using standard Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications.
  • Manage time and projects efficiently, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and meeting set deadlines.
  • Write professional correspondence and speak effectively and professionally to clients, vendors, sponsors and crew.

Sales and Client Services Manager

The primary responsibility of the Expedition Sales Manager is to generate new sales and drive revenue for OceanGate Expeditions. The position requires a blend of direct hands-on sales and client service experience in the affluent adventure or expedition B2C travel market to help create, market and sell submersible expeditions.

To achieve company sales goals, you will:

  • Have a strong understanding of adventure/expedition travel or specialty tourism programs.
  • Manage individual and affiliate (agents) sales efforts from lead generation through contract completion, fulfillment and payment.
  • Conduct outbound sales calls and field inbound inquiries from expedition clients .
  • Identify travel affiliate prospects and conduct outbound sales efforts, including preparing and presenting proposals that lead to signed reseller agreements and individual client commitments.
  • Prepare professional sales presentations using standard electronic/digital software applications.
  • Make sales presentations on behalf of the company, developing a strong command of company subject matter and value proposition.
  • Manage relationships with affiliates to monitor progress toward sales goals and ensure that all marketing materials are consistent with the OceanGate brand and expedition messaging.
  • Assess sales opportunities for legitimacy, timeliness and return on investment.
  • Travel as required for sales presentations or client relationship management.
  • Use analytical sales tools to track, manage and report the status of sales activities, and progress toward sales goals.
  • Use Smartsheet, Nimble, or other tools to maintain a database of leads, prospects and clients.
  • Support the business development team with B2B sales.

To help the team deliver a high quality expedition experience, you will:

  • Provide information and customer service to participants, travel affiliates and sponsors before, during and after each expedition.
  • Coordinate the distribution of expedition updates, information, and gear to participants and affiliates.
  • Organize and participate in private client engagement events.
  • Coordinate client reservations including management of confidential client information, tracking receipt of applications, contracts, payments, and special requests.
  • Conduct post-expedition debriefs with participants and affiliates to gather feedback and use that information to advise our crew on ways to improve the client experience or team capabilities.
  • Travel to remote locations including being aboard vessels at sea for several weeks at a time

Shop Technician

The management of Oceangate, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Shop Technician to help manage our expanding workload. We are looking for a committed and competent individual with the combination of strong mechanical and interpersonal skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-energy professional who is interested in a long-term position with a growing company.

Requirements

  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical systems, Electronics, Hydraulics, Oxygen Systems and Pneumatics.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in fabrication of Metal structures, Hydraulic systems, and Pneumatic systems.
  • Forklift, crane, and rigging experience.
  • Mechanically inclined with proven experience using wide array of power and hand tools.
  • Clean driving record and demonstrated competence in backing bumper hitched dual or triple axle trailers to launch marine vessels.
  • Can demonstrate basic seamanship and safe operation of small boats.

  • Class A or B CDL.
  • Experience working on large commercial vessels.
  • Open Water SCUBA certification.

Key Accountabilities

  • Fabricate and install mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, oxygen and pneumatic devices components onto submersibles and support vessels.
  • Maintain submersibles and various support vessels to ensure all systems are in complete working order and in compliance with all technical requirements.
  • Execute the planned maintenance of submersible systems and maintain complete technical records and logs.
  • Follow established shop checklists and operating procedures.
  • Carrying out general shop operations team duties as required.

Sub Pilot Marine Technician

The management of Oceangate, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Sub Pilot/Marine Technician to help manage and operate our fleet of manned submersibles and support vessels. We are looking for a committed and competent individual with combination of strong mechanical and interpersonal skills who can work on sensitive marine equipment, perform regular maintenance and operate complex systems to support dive operations (this is not an ocean sciences or marine research position). This is an excellent opportunity for a high-energy professional who is interested in a long-term position with a growing company.

The successful candidate will be self-driven, flexible, positive, and willing to work in a small, close-knit team environment; must have the drive to follow through on tasks and be goal-oriented. Competitive salary and benefits/medical package.

Requirements

  • Have current U.S. Citizenship and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in confined space, fit through 28” diameter ring and be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience operating submersible vehicles (manned and unmanned).
  • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office and experience with hydrographic survey and charting software packages, including Hypack/Hysweep.
  • Demonstrated competence in operation of half-duplex communication devices.
  • Experience operating small boats and working on large commercial vessels.
  • Demonstrate basic seamanship and safe operation of small boats.
  • Able to travel for domestic and foreign work, approx. 20% of the year or as required.
  • Willingness and ability to work offshore for weeks at a time as required.
  • Positive and energetic with good sense of humor.
  • Physically fit and enjoy working outside in variable weather conditions.
