Our culture is built around our commitment to be outstanding stewards of the oceans which support and connect all life on earth. We will continue our efforts to educate and inspire students, teachers, and policy makers through educational outreach programs. Our company value proposition drives us to provide safe, high-quality, manned submersible solutions for every client’s requirements while protecting the environment and working with our partners to strengthen communities. OceanGate’s social responsibility priorities are focused on two key areas: sustainability and education.
OceanGate employees are committed to being supportive members of the communities in which we operate by integrating economic, social, and environmental considerations into day-to-day business operations and long range planning. We will:
OceanGate and our employees believe that nothing is more important than education in helping people and communities to thrive.
Through our work with the OceanGate Foundation we have helped developed outreach programs for local schools, museums, and community agencies to promote ocean issues, conservation, and educational initiatives with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). We are committed to giving back to the communities where we work and live by sharing time, talents and resources. We passionately promote ocean awareness with efforts to cultivate something significant and lasting — a stronger commitment to ocean health and longevity, stronger communities, and a direct link to the next generation of ocean stakeholder, our youth.
In 2010, OceanGate leadership founded the OceanGate Foundation, a nonprofit organization that uses manned submersibles to fulfill its mission of Inspiration through Exploration™ by improving our knowledge of the marine environment and helping people make more informed decisions about its use and preservation. The organization leverages support from donors, sponsors, and grants to conduct immersive outreach programs targeting specific constituencies: students, teachers, media, politicians, celebrities, and artists.
